We failed you.
Last week I was in my classroom at a high school, and I received a breaking news alert on my phone. "Shooting in Florida high school, shooter still at large" At first glance, I didn't pay much attention to it, because in this sad world we live in, a school shooting has become quite the norm in the past few years. Sad. For some reason, I felt it necessary to look at the news and check out what was going on. I never watch the news, I get enough political nonsense on Facebook. For some reason I felt like I should watch this footage. I watched the students coming out of the high school with hands on their heads, I watched wounded students laying on the grass getting cared for, and worst of all I watched the parents running up to the school to make sure their child was safe. Then it hit me. 17 of those parents were going to receive the worst news of their lives. I cry just thinking of how that conversation went down, and I pray for the poor person who had to del
